What is sound therapy and why should I practise it?
Life is busy for all of us and it can be easy to become overwhelmed by all our responsibilities. We are constantly being pulled in so many different directions. Sometime we don’t even realise how our bodies are being affected. This can lead to stress. 80% of all physical ailments, which cause us to visit a doctor, are actually stress related. Living with a high volume of stress can mean our bodies are consistently in fight or flight mode. We were not designed to be in this state for long periods of time. When we are, this can cause physical as well as mental problems within our bodies. Some of this include: high blood pressure, sleep disorders, anxiety, panic attacks and depression to name just a few.
Yoga nidra and sound therapy can help the body to relax by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. Once the body is relaxed, the healing process can begin. We can start to let go of the stress. The body can begin to find its balance again.
How does a one to one sound therapy session work?
Each person comes to sound therapy for a different reason. In session one, we will discuss some of these reasons and what you hope to achieve. You will then lie, or sit down, while I play specific instruments to help your body to relax. Each session is tailored to your needs.
